Key Selection Criteria

  • Understanding and Commitment to Catholic Identity and Mission;
  • A current or be willing to obtain an Accreditation to teach Religious Education Certificate;
  • Demonstrated high- level knowledge of Victorian Curriculum and the AITSL standards with best practice, evidence-based approaches to teaching and learning;
  • Evidence of effective strategies for fostering a safe and positive classroom environment;
  • Experience collaborating effectively with colleagues in planning, instruction, and assessment.

About Us

St Joseph's Primary School is a Catholic parish primary school situated in southern Mallee, (north-west Victoria). The school was founded in 1954 and conducted by the Sisters of St Joseph from 1955 until 1988. Today, the school has an enrolment of over 30 children and is in the care of dedicated lay teachers and a supportive parish community. The nature of our school community is diverse, drawing both from the rural and town sectors of the Hopetoun district. Education at St Joseph's is a partnership which involves parents, families, staff and the local parish and town communities. The school provides a curriculum which is stimulating and challenging and which encourages each child to develop to their full potential. The curriculum highlights the relevance of our faith to life and contemporary culture.
