At St Brigid’s Primary School, the Pastoral Care Worker will support students through the form of individual sessions or group work. The Pastoral Care Worker will collaborate with families and teachers to ensure that children are supported in a holistic approach. The Pastoral Care Worker will oversee, implement and coordinate programs that focus on supporting and empowering students.
Salary and conditions are implemented according to the CEMEA (ranging from ESB Level 2 – Level 4) and will be determined based on qualifications and expertise of the successful applicant.

Background, Qualifications and Requirements:
qualifications in Social Work/Welfare/Counselling;
professional counselling experience;
awareness of the ethical and legal issues involved in the role of Pastoral Care Worker within a school environment;
current membership, or be eligible to be a member, of relevant professional association (e.g. AHPRA/AASW);
Working with Children Check and a National Police Record Check.
Role Description:
The successful applicant will:

provide counselling for students;
collaborate with families and teachers to ensure that children are supported in a holistic approach;
oversee, implement and coordinate programs that focus on supporting and empowering students;
oversee and implement an internal referral process;
demonstrate a professional standard of practice in line with the AASW/AHPRA;
liaise with the leadership team regarding Pastoral Care matters;
maintains digital professional records in accordance with legislative requirements.

St Brigid's School is a small Catholic primary school with Prep to Year 6 classes, situated in the rural township of Ballan, approximately 20 minutes south-east of Ballarat along the Western Highway. St Brigid's has an enrolment of approximately 120 students, divided into five learning groups.
