This Learning Support Officer position is a part-time, fixed-term for term 3 only.
This position will be 18 hours/week (FTE 0.48).
About the Role
Our LSOs play a vital role in nurturing students’ learning, wellbeing, and sense of belonging. Working alongside classroom teachers and our Learning Diversity Leader, LSOs support students with diverse learning needs — ensuring that every child is known, valued, and supported to flourish.
Some of the Key Responsibilities of this role will include:
proactively monitoring and supporting student wellbeing;
demonstrating duty of care to students in relation to their physical and mental wellbeing.
displaying a proven commitment to developing independence in students with additional learning needs;
assisting and working with the classroom teacher to provide the required support for individual students;
working under the instruction and supervision of the classroom teacher or other supervising teacher;
effectively using information technologies as a tool for learning;
meeting and working with students at designated locations and times;
supporting and caring for individual students with specific learning, medical and hygiene and self-care needs;
assisting students to attend special events such as excursions, camps and swimming where required.
