Education Officer: Wellbeing Secondary

About the Role

When students and staff feel safe, valued and included, their sense of belonging grows — positively impacting wellbeing, motivation and overall school success.

As Education Officer: Wellbeing, you will:

  • Partner with schools to implement strategic system-wide initiatives and policies that enhance student wellbeing.
  • Support the delivery of the Student Agency – Schools that Listen Project.
  • Build the capacity of educators and leaders to foster positive, inclusive and respectful learning communities.
  • Engage with school improvement processes to develop data-informed wellbeing practices.
  • Design and deliver high-impact professional learning to school leaders and Student Wellbeing Networks.
  • Collaborate with government departments, community organisations and agencies to optimise support for children, young people and their families.
  • Stay abreast of research, legislation, statutory requirements and Church teachings relevant to student wellbeing.

About You

You are an educator who is committed to the Catholic ethos and has a genuine passion for supporting student wellbeing. You bring both expertise and empathy, and you thrive in collaborative, networked environments.

You will bring:

  • Commitment to Catholic identity, mission and values.
  • Demonstrated experience in evidence-based teaching and learning approaches that enhance student wellbeing.
  • Strong understanding of multi-tiered systems of support (e.g. School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support).
  • Ability to build educator and leader capability in student wellbeing and child safety.
  • Proven experience managing and implementing complex projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in Education (required).
  • Relevant academic qualifications in a related discipline (e.g. psychology, social work, counselling, occupational therapy, psychiatric nursing).
  • Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence.
