About the Role
In this role, the school cleaner will be responsible for maintaining hygienic, safe, and well-presented facilities across the St Patrick's Primary School. This work ensures daily operational readiness, supports strict workplace health and safety standards, and contributes directly to a positive, safe learning and working environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Some of the Key Responsibilities of this role will include:
To clean and disinfect all student and staff toilet amenities daily to maintain high hygiene standards.
To check and restock essential consumables daily, ensuring an uninterrupted supply of liquid hand soap and toilet tissue.
To perform routine vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and log completed tasks according to structured room rotations.
To empty waste bins exclusively from staff/student toilets and the First Aid Room (classroom bins are excluded).
To disinfect high-touch building surfaces (window sills, doors, handles, and frames) daily using hospital-grade disinfectant.
To utilise the January vacation period for intensive facilities cleaning, including washing all internal/external glass.
To perform deep descaling of toilets, sanitise student furniture, and clear high-level dust and spider-webs during breaks.
To adhere to safe chemical and PPE protocols, report hazards/injuries promptly, and escalate high-risk or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
