About the Role
Catholic Education Ballarat is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior ICT Support Officer to provide high‑level ICT support and systems administration across our central office and school environments.
This role balances escalated technical support, ICT infrastructure operations, and collaboration with school communities, supporting secure, reliable and modern technology services that enable teaching, learning and business operations.
Working as part of a collaborative ICT team, you will be trusted to operate with a high degree of autonomy while contributing to strategic initiatives and continual service improvement.
This role will:
- Provide Tier 3 / escalated ICT support across schools and the CEB office
- Support and maintain core ICT infrastructure and cloud platforms
- Work collaboratively with school staff to design and resolve complex ICT solutions
- Contribute to ICT planning, projects and service improvements
- Support technology environments that directly enable learning and wellbeing
Some of the key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Providing escalated ICT support across diverse devices, systems and geographic locations
- Designing, administering and supporting core ICT infrastructure including cloud services, servers, networks, firewalls and identity systems
- Collaborating with schools to design-fit ICT solutions and troubleshoot complex issues remotely and onsite
- Supporting and maintaining onsite infrastructure including networking, wireless, CCTV and server environments
- Ensuring the availability, reliability and recovery of critical systems in line with Business Continuity plans
- Providing expert advice on ICT hardware standards and procurement for schools and CEB
- Contributing to ICT strategic planning, project delivery and continual improvement initiatives
- Working with vendors and third‑party providers, including SIMON Schools, to deliver effective outcomes

Key Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following:
- Demonstrated commitment to Catholic Education and to the safety, wellbeing and protection of children and young people
- Relevant qualifications or significant industry experience in Information Communication Technology
- High‑level ICT skills, including experience supporting cloud platforms, networks, servers and end‑user environments
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex ICT issues independently
- A collegial, collaborative approach to working with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Prior experience working in an education setting is desirable
